Alex Gerlis worked for the BBC as a journalist for many years, starting out as a researcher and ending his career there three decades later as Head of Training in the BBC College of Journalism. Afterwards, he began writing historical spy fiction novels. All of his espionage thrillers are set in Europe in and around the WWII. So far he has published 13 novels and became a bestselling author with a total book sales of about 800.000 copies. His upcoming novel called 'City of Traitors' is to be published in August 2026.
